The people have spoken: User survey!

We conducted a user survey to find out what people's experiences and opinions are about Gobble Sticky. We also asked about areas where we could improve.
This user survey was posted on social media and shared among various relevant groups. There were 127 people who responded and of these, 122 had tested the product. These had received a total of 49 different species (!)
There are also some who have not reported exact species, but have written “flounder”, “skater”, “shark” and “wrasse” or simply “lots of species” and “a lot of different ones”.
We put a complete list of species at the bottom of the article.

Briefly summarized:
The vast majority believe they catch more fish with Gobble Sticky ( 67.2% ), and a few believe it has no effect ( 5.7% ).
Those who have caught multiple species give higher scores than those who have only received one species.
When we ask how satisfied people are on a scale of 1-5, the average is 4.07.
The most common complaints people have are that the tubes are too small. There are also some who have experienced leaking tubes. More about feedback further down.

Cod, saithe, sea trout, ling and trout are the species most frequently reported.

We can take a deeper dive for those who are interested:

To the question “ Do you find that Gobble Sticky gives you more bites or fish? ” one could answer “Yes”, “no”, or “unsure:

67.2% report experiencing more bites or catches with Gobble Sticky,
27.0% are unsure whether it has any effect.
5.7% have not noticed any effect.

It is interesting that those who have caught two or more species think Gobble have a greater effect than those who have  caught one species.
Among these with two species or more, 78.4% believe they catch more fish, while only 1.4% say they experience no effect.

If we look at what those who have caught different kinds of species say, there are also variations.
Among fishermen who have caught sea trout and brown trout, 77.3% believe they catch more fish with Gobble, and for those who caught cod the figure is 80%.
Here are some of the most popular species and how anglers who caught them rate Gobble:

We also asked how satisfied users were with the product on a scale of 1-5.
Here the average was 4.07
75.4% gave the product 4 or 5 out of 5.
Here too, there is a clear correlation between the number of species caught and how satisfied the users were. It is hardly surprising that the most satisfied are those who have caught fish.

Feedback:
Here, the anglers were askedcto share their experiences and give suggestions for improvement.
A lot of positive feedback, but also some criticism:

Larger tubes or cans:
We are going to start working on this. We understand that deep sea anglers in particular need to buy larger quantities. Larger packages will be tested. We also received a couple of suggestions about using a pot with a brush. We will also investigate that possibility.

Some were dissatisfied with the fact that the tube started leaking after a while:
The tubes are made of aluminum, so they can't take too much beating before they crack.
There are several reasons why we have chosen aluminum:
It should be the most sustainable option for our use
It is difficult to find air- and light-tight plastic tubes. Gobble Sticky is made of biodegradable substances that do not fare well if they are exposed to air and light over time. There is a good reason why foods like caviar come in aluminum tubes. Products similar to Gobble are often made with a very high percentage vaseline or paraffin oil. This makes it very stable, but also means that you get a smaller proportion of active substances that actually attract fish. But we are looking at other solutions and will step up the hunt for more resistant tubes in the future. In the meantime, we recommend that you store the tubes in a place where they will not get too much of a beating, for example in a separate room in your lure box. It is also a good idea not to fold the tube too much, but squeeze from the bottom of the tube outwards.

Some people think the price is too high:

Gobble Sticky consists almost exclusively of active ingredients. These are not cheap. We cannot compete on price with products that are often 90% vaseline. The fact that we produce in Norway also means that the product costs more to make than a number of similar products, which are often made in countries with lower labor costs. But of course we still believe that you get more for your money if you choose us. And eventually we will come up with larger containers, which will mean that those who want it get more for their money.

Poor labeling/sticker falls off
We are testing new labeling and are in dialogue with various suppliers. We will also look at labeling further forward on the tube, so it will be easier to distinguish the different varieties when there is just little left.

To the overwhelming majority that are happy with Gobble Sticky, thank you for all the nice words, great stories and congratulations on your catches! And our sincere apologies to those who claim  they have become addicted to Gobble and to those who think that " fly tying is now ruined forever "!

Thanks to everyone who participated!
